The Blackhawks have delighted their fans by making the playoffs every year since 2009 and winning the Stanley Cup three times during that run. Jonathan Toews has been the captain the entire time, and his leadership has gone a long way toward the success of the team.

He was named team captain in just his second year on the team and in the NHL, and his two-way play already has earned him a spot on the 100 Greatest NHL Players at the young age of 28. While not quite a household name, the left-handed shooting center was the second-youngest player to ever win the Conn Smythe Award (Stanley Cup MVP) in 2010.

Since then he won the Selke Trophy (best defensive forward) in 2013 and the Mark Messier Leadership Award (contribution to one’s team and community) in 2015. Besides his three Stanley Cup rings, Toews has gold medals from the 2010 and 2014 Olympic games.
